| | | | | | | Physician Programs The Transfusion Medicine Fellowship is a one-year program that prepares physicians to practice as directors of hospital transfusion services or regional blood centers. This fellowship has been offered for over 30 years and has trained over 100 physicians, most of whom are now board certified in transfusion medicine. Approximately 30% of all transfusion medicine specialists in the tri-state area are among these graduates.
The course "Current Practices in Transfusion Medicine" is offered twice a year in APril and July for physicians. Fellows and Residents attend this course to supplement their hospital training and to help prepare for board certification examinations.
