Little Doctors Program

The Little Doctor Program(r) started thanks to a very special 6th grade teacher from Putnam Valley Middle School. In 1996, Karen Brothers imagined that her students would benefit and learn from the experience of organizing and planning a community blood drive. The Little Doctors Program(r) was born from the magic and creativity of the students, in partnership with New York Blood Center. The program is an outstanding community service and academic experience for the students and the entire community. In the years since, New York Blood Center's Little Doctor Program(r) has grown throughout New York and New Jersey and to Blood Centers across the United States and even abroad. This program is an ideal partnership with science curriculum requirements for grades 5 - 8, in particular the 6th grade curriculum.
