Organizing a blood drive demonstrates a commitment to community service, leadership, team building and ultimately saves lives.

This winter break, partner with New York Blood Center’s Bloodstock Scholarship Blood Drive program to host a blood drive in your community. Participating hosts receive $10 toward a college scholarship for every successful blood donation at a participating blood drive—up to $1,000!

Host a Bloodstock Scholarship Blood Drive between December 15, 2023, and January 31, 2024, to earn scholarship funds and help save lives in your community. The program requires a minimum of 30 completed blood donations to qualify for scholarship funds. Blood drive hosts who do not meet the minimum required to earn a scholarship will receive a $50 electronic gift card.

For more information, e-mail your name, phone number, and zip code to [email protected] with “Bloodstock” in the subject line.

Scholarship checks are made payable directly to the accredited college or university designated by the student. A completed scholarship form is required upon completion of the successful blood drive and checks are processed within 60 days. Lost or uncashed checks will not be replaced.

NYBC’s Little Doctors Program® is the brainchild of Putnam Valley Middle School 6th grade teacher Karen Brothers. Karen knew her students would learn about volunteerism, community service, and the science of blood by organizing community blood drives.

The program is designed for faculty and students at elementary and middle schools. Young students bring creativity and magic to the program, and hundreds of schools across our area are now participating. Little Doctors Program® is an ideal partnership with science curriculum requirements for grades 5-8. For more information, email us at [email protected]
