Reaching new heights to save lives

Co-hosted by the Building Owners & Managers Association of Greater New York (BOMA New York) and New York Blood Center (NYBC), Skyscrapers for Life brings together property management leaders throughout New York City and Long Island in a friendly competition to save lives through blood donation. Created by MetLife in 1997, Skyscrapers for Life invites commercial multi-tenant properties to host blood drives and encourage employees to step up and give blood.

As we launch this challenge, BOMA New York and NYBC invite participating properties to host blood drives between May 1, 2024 – October 31, 2024, and encourage eligible donors to give blood while competing against other participating properties for recognition.

The winners in the three categories will be honored at the BOMA New York Holiday Luncheon in December to celebrate their lifesaving efforts that help hospital patients in our community.

Recognition categories include:

• Property Management Group of the Year
  Highest number of cumulative blood donations within a property management company’s portfolio
• Property of the Year
  Individual property with the highest number of blood donations
• Tenant of the Year
  Tenant with the most donations contributed to a Skyscrapers for Life blood drive

Minimum Space Requirements

• A clean, well-lit, temperature-controlled space with a minimum of 1,000+ square feet (can be one open space or a combination of nearby rooms).
• Access to standard outlets
• Access to restrooms with running water
